Facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Spied on the Road

It’s been two years since the fifth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe was unveiled. With the automotive landscape changing fast due to the constant increase in the number of players in the market, a recent spy video showed that it is already due for a mid-cycle refresh.

The E-Class Coupe prototype in the video does not have plenty to hide because its camouflage only hides its nose. Usually, the covered areas in prototypes are where the major changes take place. So, in the case of the subject here, expect its final version to get some cosmetic enhancements in the front bumper, front grille, and lights. The new styling elements will likely copy the look of its facelifted sedan version and it will not be too different from the appearance of the new CLS.

The E-Class will certainly update its infotainment system too. Like the rest of the Mercedes vehicles, the car will definitely ditch its COMAND multimedia system in favor of the more advanced MBUX software.

There’s no word yet about the possible overhaul in the engine lineup of the E-Class, but we may see a mild-hybrid, electrified variant of it. It would be interesting to know what Mercedes has in store for the AMG E53 and the range-topping E63 trims of the range as well.

It should be noted that the current generation of the E-Class Coupe was first unveiled to live audiences at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2018. However, due to the event being pushed to June this year, the most probable venue for the unveiling of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe might be at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
