Hisense briefly introduced its upcoming R7 smart TV series in January but has yet to commercialize it, having now finally revealed when it intends to do so, at least in the United States. The series consists of four Hisense Roku TV models, all of which boast 4K display resolutions and HDR10 capabilities, though they differ in terms of screen size and individual audio prowess. The Hisense Roku TV R7 lineup is set to hit the shelves in the United States starting in June, when it will be distributed through retail channels including Costco, Best Buy, and Nebraska Furniture Mart. In terms of pricing, the 43-inch model will be available at $349, while the 50 and 55-inch variants will launch for $429 and $499, respectively. Lastly, the larger 65-inch TV will carry an MSRP of $799.
As the moniker suggests, the Hisense Roku TV R7 series runs the Roku TV operating system boasting streaming capabilities and access to various content including the Roku Channel offering news, TV shows, and free movies. Though they are not actual Android TVs like the company’s H10E TV series, and although they lack compatibility with Amazon Alexa, the Roku mobile application for Android and iOS smartphones does offer additional features to the R7 lineup, including voice search capabilities, remote controls, and the ability to redirect the audio to headphones plugged into the smartphone. All four models can connect to the Internet through Wi-Fi or a physical ethernet port, and they share technologies such as HDR and Motion Rate image processing, USB 2.0 input, three HDMI 2.0b ports, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smaller 43-inch model is equipped with two 7W speakers, while the 50 and 55-inch variants taking advantage of a pair of 10W speakers. Meanwhile, the largest model boasting a 65-inch diagonal makes use of two 15W speakers, and likewise, the larger models have higher power consumption ranging from 120W for the 43-inch model to 200W for the 65-inch variant. Finally, the 43, 50, and 55-inch TVs offer support for 200×200 VESA wall mounts, while the 65-inch unit requires a 400×400 VESA solution.
