Meizu’s All-New M6S Smartphone Gets The Teardown Treatment

The Meizu M6S got announced by the company quite recently, and the first Meizu M6S teardown has just appeared online. This teardown was conducted in China, and it gives you a closer look at the phone’s internals, while it can be quite useful if you need to repair the device yourself, or your local repair shop needs instructions on how to do it, as the Meizu M6S is quite different than its predecessors, it comes with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and a rather interesting on-screen button.

Having said that, the first thing you need to do is power off the Meizu M6S, and remove its SIM card tray which sits on the left-hand side of the device. Following that, you will need a screwdriver in order to remove two screws that are placed at the very bottom of the device, they’re flanking the phone’s Type-C USB port. Once you do that, you will be able to remove the phone’s back cover, though you’ll need a pick or something of the sort in order to do it, as shown in the images down below, which also guide you through the whole process, by the way. Once you remove the back cover, you will get access to the phone’s internals, including its battery, so you don’t need to heat up the phone in order to open it up or anything of the sort. The phone’s fingerprint scanner module is actually included on that back cover’s right side (and it’s glued to it), and it connects to the device’s mainboard, when the phone is not disassembled, of course.

In order to access the phone’s mainboard and other parts of the device, you will need to disconnect the display, and other ports if you can find some, after which you will need to remove all the screws that are included here (upper side of the phone), and there are seven of them. As soon as you remove those screws, you’ll get access to the phone’s motherboard, and will be able to remove it with a number of components that are attached to it, including the phone’s camera. Following this, you will notice additional seven screws below the phone’s battery, which also need to be removed in order for you to gain access to the phone’s other components. There are a couple of additional steps you’ll need to take in order to fully disassemble the Meizu M6S, and if you’d like to do that, follow the source link down below in order to get more info.
