The China Mobile M850 has been certified by the Chinese telecommunications regulator TENAA. This means that the handset will likely be released in the East Asian country in the near future. The carrier-branded smartphone sports a display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and located directly above the screen are the front-facing camera and the earpiece. Meanwhile, the power button and the volume rocker are both placed on the right-hand side of the smartphone. The back of the handset, on the other hand, contains the dual rear camera setup, the carrier branding, and the fingerprint scanner for quickly unlocking the device. The Chinese regulator noted in its listing that the device will be available in three color variants, namely dark gray, blue, and brown.
Also, according to the listing on TENAA’s website, the China Mobile M850 is powered by an octa-core processor running at the maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz. The device contains 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash storage, which could be expanded using a microSD card with a capacity of up to 128GB. The handset’s rear cameras are equipped with one 12-megapixel sensor and one 8-megapixel shooter. The rear cameras, according to TENAA’s listing, can record videos with a resolution of up to 1080p. Meanwhile, the front-facing selfie snapper contains a 20-megapixel sensor. The smartphone sports a 5.93-inch display with a resolution of 2160 by 1080 pixels. To keep the lights on, the device includes a 3,300mAh battery.
The China Mobile M850 supports GSM, CDMA, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE networks. Moreover, the smartphone supports VoLTE, a technology that permits users to make calls on the LTE network. Other features of the handset include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS navigation support. The handset weighs 171.5 grams, and it has a length of 159.2mm, a width of 75.6mm, and a thickness of 8.29mm. The handset is expected to ship with Android 7.1.2 Nougat pre-installed, which means that the owners of the device can take advantage of features like split-screen multitasking and quick reply. Split-screen multitasking allows users to view two applications at the same time while the quick reply feature permits people to respond to messages or emails directly from the notification shade.
