Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, one of the leading daily newspapers in Japan, is reporting that the next-generation Lexus CT hatchback will be offered with a full-electric powertrain by 2020.
Production of the CT EV is said to start in mid-2020 at the Toyota Motor Kyushu factory, and will be offered in China first before making its way to the rest of the world. This timeline would certainly fit with the larger picture, as Lexus parent company Toyota has announced plans to introduce more than 10 EVs by the early 2020s.
