Galaxy A5 (2018) Hits GFXBench With 4GB Of RAM, 16MP Cameras

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) yesterday, and it seems like the Galaxy A5 (2018) may follow soon. The alleged Galaxy A5 (2018) popped up on GFXBench under the model number ‘SM-A530x’, and not only does this model number suggests that this is the Galaxy A5 (2018) we’re looking at here, but the specs that GFXBench revealed paint the very same picture.

According to this listing, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) will sport a 5.6-inch fullHD+ (2220 x 1080) display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Do keep in mind that it’s possible that GFXBench’s details are a bit off, so this could turn out to be a 5.7-inch display, not a 5.6-inch one. In addition to that, GFXBench claims that the phone will be fueled by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.1GHz, and this is quite probably the Exynos 7885 64-bit octa-core processor, as the ARM Mali-G71 GPU has also been mentioned by GFXBench. The Galaxy A5 (2018) will ship with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, while a 16-megapixel shooter will be included on both its back and front sides, though chances are we’re looking at different sensors here. Android 7.1.1 Nougat has also been mentioned by GFXBench, and on top of Google’s operating system, Samsung will include its UI, of course, as per usual. GFXBench’s listing also confirms that NFC will be a part of the package, while the phone will not sport a heart rate sensor.

That is more or less all the info that was shared by the source, and the Galaxy A5 (2018) is actually expected to arrive in the near future. The Galaxy A5 (2018) will be inferior to the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018), though that was to be expected. The Galaxy A5 (2018) is meant to be a mid-range smartphone, and judging by the specs shared by GFXBench, that’s exactly the category it will belong in. That being said, the Galaxy A5 (2017) was announced back in January, so it is possible that its successor will also be announced in January, which means that we may see it being released next month, though that’s just a guess, of course.
