Motorola has just announced the Moto Z 2018 in China, and no, this is a not a brand new phone, it’s actually one of the company’s existing phones, but it carries a different name in China. This is actually the Moto Z2 Force with a different name, which essentially means that the Moto Z 2018 is Motorola’s new flagship in China. Now, in addition to announcing the regular variant of the phone, the company has also announced a special variant of the Moto Z 2018, called the Kingsman Special Edition Moto Z 2018. Having said that, let’s see what’s this all about, shall we.
Now, in both terms of the design and specs, the Moto Z 2018 is identical to the Moto Z2 Force. That means that the device is made out of metal, while it sports that protruding ‘oreo’ housing for the dual camera setup on the back. The device comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, while you’ll notice the company’s branding on both the phone’s front and back sides. The Moto Z2 Force also comes with a set of POGO pins on the back, which let the phone connect to various accessories, like the company’s Moto Mods, for example. The Moto Z 2018 features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) P-OLED display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, and this is the only variant that was announced by Motorola in China. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while it sports two 12-megapixel shooters on the back, one RGB and one monochrome sensor. A 5-megapixel snapper is included on the front side of this phone, while Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes out of the box here. The device packs in a 2,730mAh non-removable battery, but interestingly enough, this handset comes bundled with a 3,490mAh Moto Mod. That’s not all, though, the Moto Style Mod which ads wireless charging is also included in the box.
Now, the Moto Z 2018 Kingsman Special Edition variant comes in a box which is designed like a briefcase, and that box includes the device itself, a VIP card, TurboPower battery mod, wireless charging mod, USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter, leather flip case, 45th year anniversary notepad, the USB-C Hi-Fi audio headphones and a warranty card. In terms of specs, the Kingsman Special Edition variant is identical to the regular Moto Z 2018. In addition to all that, Motorola has also announced a pair of Moto USB-C Hi-Fi headphones which come in the Moto Z 2018 Kingsman Edition box. The company says that these are the world’s first USB-C Hi-Fi headphones, and we’re looking at the in-ear type of headphones here, with a 120cm long braided cable. The Moto Z 2018 comes in a black color only, and its pricing was not mentioned by the company, at least according to the source, but the Moto Z 2018 Kingsman Edition is priced at 9,999 Yuan ($1,500).
