The HTC U11 Life is HTC’s upcoming Android One handset, at least according to a number of rumors and leaks, and a new leak has just popped up, as the phone surfaced on Geekbench. Now, if Geekbench is to be believed, the HTC U11 Life will be fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC, while it will pack in 3GB of RAM. Geekbench also confirms that Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on this smartphone, while the phone managed to score 858 points in the single-core benchmark, and it also scored 4,136 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench.
Now, a recent leak actually suggested that the HTC U11 Life will ship without a 3.5mm headphone jack, and even though Geekbench says that the device will land with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, it will probably launch with Android 8.0 Oreo. Now, considering this will be an Android One smartphone, it means that it will ship with stock Android, HTC’s skin will not be included here, and updates will arrive to the phone directly from Google, though every update will have to be checked by HTC, of course. In addition to what Geekbench reported, the HTC U11 Life is also rumored to sport a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, and 32GB of native storage. Bluetooth 5.0 was also mentioned in one of the previous leaks, and the device will probably also be IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. A 2,600mAh non-removable battery was also mentioned previously, and the device will sport a Type-C USB port on its bottom.
Now, in terms of the design, the HTC U11 Life will resemble the HTC U11 to some extent. This smartphone will be made out of metal and glass, while it will ship with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. That fingerprint scanner will double as the phone’s home key, and it will be flanked by two capacitive keys, on the left you’ll find the back key, while an overview (multitasking) key will be placed on the right. The device’s physical buttons will be included on the right-hand side of this phone, and the device’s main camera will protrude a bit on the back. The HTC U11 Life is expected to land on November 2, so stay tuned.
