ASUS introduced the ZenWatch, its first Android Wear-based smartwatch, way back in 2014. More recently, we saw the debut of the ZenWatch 3 in August of last year. But a new report from DigiTimes, ASUS may be giving up on the ZenWatch family due to lack of adoption.
The report indicates that shipments of the ZenWatch family is between 5,000 and 6,000 units per month, which is not a lot. To compare, the Apple Watch is said to have shipped 3.5 million units in the first quarter of 2017 based on data from IDC.
ASUS has created eye-catching designs for its ZenWatch family, but apparently potential smartwatch buyers haven’t been flocking to the lineup.
