Even though we're out of the chilly winter weather, it's still important to look after our skin and stay moisturized. The problem with creamy body products in the summertime is that, when paired with the heat and humidity, they can make your skin feel super clammy and greasy. I've discovered a few products that work really well at making your skin maintain a good glow for the summer without feeling heavy.
First up is my all-time favorite body lotion for this season: Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter Lotion*. I've been in love with this stuff ever since I first tried it, and I'm so happy to report that it's the perfect body moisturizer for summer. This lotion is hydrating and leaves your skin buttery smooth, plus it sinks into your skin super fast so you can get dressed relatively quickly if you put this on after a shower. Also - the smell! If you've never smelled Soap & Glory's signature "pink" scent, it's pretty much just the girliest, loveliest smell ever. A little bit floral, a little bit sweet...it's perfect for this season.
For something a little richer, I love using the Georgia Peach & Sweet Tea Ultra Shea Body Cream from Bath & Body Works (similar). I'm a fan of their body creams all year round, but this one for summer is especially lovely. It works so well at keeping your elbows, knees, and heels nice and soft, so it's a must-have if you enjoy fake tanning. I love applying some of this before bed so I can wake up to super soft limbs. And once again, the scent is so incredibly good! It smells just like an ice cold glass of peach sweet tea, which is just about the only thing I want all summer long.
Lastly, I've been loving the Ofra Body Illuminizer in Charmer* (similar) for a bit of a bronzy glow. This is not a gradual tanner or fake tanning cream, but it has a tiny amount of bronze tint and shimmer to it. If I know I'm going to be showing a bit more skin (like hanging out at the pool or going to the fair), I'll apply this all over for an added some glow. Besides the extra bit of color, this adds a nice amount of hydration to the skin and sinks in almost immediately.
