The Galaxy S7 is known for having a great camera, whether it’s used taking images in low-light or making a lovely panorama shot, it will deliver a great image for a smartphone. But what if you want to take even better photos, perhaps zooming in at a distance that would normally require a telephoto lens, or take an image with a wide-angled viewpoint? Well, Samsung teased us with the Lens Cover kit for the S7 back in February, and now it seems the Korean handset maker is finally making it available through its online stores.
The Lens Cover kit costs an eye-watering €149 ($170) and includes a telephoto lens that can zoom twice the usual distance and a 110-degree wide-angle lens. The telephoto lens offers to zoom in twice the distance while the wide-angle lens will take a wider picture, handy for taking images of crowds or landmarks when sight-seeing.
The Galaxy S7 Lens Cover kit is showing up as available on some of Samsung’s online stores in Europe such as Germany, Spain, and The Netherlands. While the accessory is listed on Samsung’s UK store, there are no details on pricing or where you can buy it from. Somehow, I doubt it will come in under £129 though. Whichever region you live in, the Lens Cover kit is not a bargain accessory, at all.
I think we can all agree that €149 is more than a tad expensive for the Galaxy S7 Lens Cover kit, but Samsung obviously feel it’s a premium accessory for a premium handset, and thus they need to reap a premium profit. What do you think about the price for this accessory?
