You’ve probably read a lot about Huawei and its latest flagship, the P9, in recent weeks, since its launch in London on April 6th. Featuring a dual-camera setup and a superb fingerprint reader on the rear, the P9 is proving to be quite impressive as we work up to typing out our review of the handset. For your money, you’ll be getting a premium handset with a Full HD 5.2-inch display, HiSilicon Kirin 955 quad-core @ 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage with the option of adding more via the included MicroSD card slot. There are dual 12MP rear cameras (one color, the other monochrome) with dual tone LED flash and erm, Leica certification, whatever that means. An 8MP front camera is present for those selfies pictures that everyone likes taking.
With a 3,000mAh battery (non-removable), you should get through the day with a bit to spare. The Huawei P9 is just 6.95mm thick and weighs in at 144 grams. As you would want in 2016 with a flagship device, the P9 is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, albeit with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 interface running on top. While the Huawei P9’s £369 price tag represents quite a saving over the official SIM-free price, it’s still a bit of an outlay all at once.
