LG G Pad X8.3 owners on Verizon will begin to receive Marshmallow over-the-air today. This update will bring all the latest features from both Samsung and LG including doze mode for battery saving, Now On Tap for contextual awareness, and simplified app permissions to keep you in control of your data.
The software version being updated to is VK81522A. Before starting, there’s a few things you might want to know. First off, since it’s a major system overhaul, we suggest cleaning out some space if your device memory is near full capacity. It’s also recommended that you connect to a stable nearby Wi-Fi network to avoid being charged with data. Lastly, make sure your battery level is above the 50% mark before starting the installation process.
In addition to Marshmallow, LG G Pad X8.3 owners on Verizon will get the latest security patches. As the case most of the time, the update is rolling out via OTA in waves. Meaning it may not be today you get the notification to update. Just be patient and you’ll have yourself the update by the end of next week.
