Mitsubishi Australia has announced a five star safety rating for the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, which launches as a successor to the Challenger this week in Australia.
The announcement comes on the back of Mitsubishi announcing several Mitsubishi-first safety technologies and a number of class equalling safety tech that will ensure the Pajero Sport doesn’t lag behind the competition when it goes on sale next week.
Safety technology standard on the Pajero Sport Exceed includes a blind spot monitoring system, an accidental acceleration prevention technology and a bird’s eye camera to aid with parking.
This is in addition to Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) on Pajero Sport Exceed which uses millimetre wave radar to detect objects in front of the vehicle and allows the vehicle to alert the driver and autonomously brake if required to prevent a collision.
The entire range comes with seven airbags and a host of passive safety technologies such as trailer sway mitigation, electronic stability control and emergency stop signal.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri said the new Pajero Sport was designed to meet the highest safety standards.
“Pajero Sport is the most advanced fully-capable Mitsubishi 4×4 SUV to date, with a comprehensive list of safety features not typically found in this segment,” he said.
“The Pajero Sport introduces a host new active safety features on the Exceed model include Blind Spot Warning, Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System and a Multi around Monitor which will feature on a Mitsubishi model for the first time.”
“We’re pleased to confirm that all models in the all-new Pajero Sport range have been recognised with a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating for their arrival in Mitsubishi showrooms this month.”
