Print ads of the day called the mildly restyled 1936 Pontiacs “The Most Beautiful Thing on Wheels.” While that may be the subject of some debate, the less-prominent waterfall grille and updated chrome hood trim certainly made the cars look more contemporary, and even a bit upscale. This 1936 Pontiac Master Six, for sale on Hemmings.com, is said to be fresh from a frame-up restoration, with less than five miles added since the car rolled out of the shop. The 208-cu.in. six has been tuned up, too, and its radiator re-cored at a specialty shop. We can’t attest to the authenticity of its new interior, or its dark blue paint, but the prewar Pontiac would surely make an enjoyable and comfortable weekend driver. From the seller’s description:
This car has been fully restored from the frame up. New paint, new interior, engine painted. The interior has been restored using the same type material that was used originally. Mileage stated is the actual mileage. Engine given a fresh tune up. Flat head six cylinder runs great! Radiator rebuilt at a specialty radiator shop in Memphis, TN. Tire quality is good. Various manuals, spart parts and maintenace records available. Very good chrome and hub caps. Southern car.
