It seems like the new BMW X4 may find a home with a younger demographic than BMW usually has.
Rapper Lil’ Wayne’s daughter Reginae recently celebrated her 16th birthday in Atlanta and her parents have been more than generous: she was gifted a BMW X4 and a Ferrari 599 GTO.
The two opposite vehicles will clearly serve different purposes. While the X4 brings the characteristics of an SUV into a small, safe and sporty package, the 599 GTO will Reginae that status many teenagers don’t have.
According to TMZ, Reginae’s mother and stepfather bought her the Ferrari with Lil’ Wayne’s blessing. They believe their daughter can handle the 599 GTO which packs some serious power under the hood: 661 ponies. 0 to 60 mph is achieved in 3.1 seconds, a car faster than many professional drivers can handle also.
The Ferrari currently sells for around $500,000, used.
In the US, the X4 will be offered with a choice of two TwinPower Turbo engines. The X4 xDrive28i, with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $45,625 (including destination and handling), will feature the 240 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder engine while the top-of-line X4 xDrive35i, with an MSRP of $48,925 (including destination and handling) will output 306 hp.
The X4 xDrive35i runs from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds.
