Yahoo Autos names the BMW i3 as the Green Car Of The Year. Furthermore, Yahoo labels the i3 “The most radical vehicle to emerge from any automaker in the past year — and likely the past decade.”
The folks over at Yahoo do get one fact wrong though. Instead of the 1.3 liter range-extender engine mentioned in the review, the i3 REx actually runs with a 650 cc two-cylinder gasoline engine with a small fuel tank.
“No matter how funky and modern BMW makes its lights and window graphics,” said contributing editor Steve Siler, “it’s hard to get excited about a box with ultra-skinny wheels.”
Yet, the panel experts at Yahoo believe the i3 is the first exciting vehicle in a long time and the first of this century, and a road opener for many electric vehicles to come to market.
