What’s new for 2020 Mitsubishi SUVs in Chicago?

What Chicago Drivers Can Expect from Future Mitsubishi Models

As Mitsubishi Motors North America continues its run as the fastest-growing Asian brand in the U.S. for the second consecutive year, we decided it was time to take a look to the future of the brand. The near-future, that is: the 2020 Mitsubishi models are almost upon us, and any day now you’ll be seeing them out on the Chicago streets (in the case of the 2020 Eclipse Cross, you likely already are). So what will the vehicles of this brave new world look like?

The eyes of Chicago drivers will soon be blessed with Mitsubishi vehicles boasting more attractive designs, outfitted with more broadly available safety systems, buzzing and whirring with the latest convenient technology, and simply boasting more overall value.

Let’s get specific: what do we know about the 2020 Mitsubishi SUVs?

2020 Outlander Sport in redSince the 2020 Eclipse Cross is already alive and available here at Continental Mitsubishi (in seven different colors, no less), we’ll start with that. The Eclipse Cross sees added standard safety features on the SE and SEL trims, more convenience features, and additional comfort in the form of heated seats on the LE trim. It also boasts a new limited-edition trim level, featuring unique design and stylistic touches.

Now let’s turn to the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander – you know that we here are huge fans of this model in all its incarnations. The new Outlander models should all be coming this month (September). So keep your eyes peeled and hopefully we’ll have them for you all soon!

The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander will continue to come in three model variations: PHEV (hybrid), Standard, and Sport. All three will be getting a new limited-edition trim level, along with more standard safety features. They also all get power-lumbar support on all trims, more USB ports, and interior tech upgrades including an eight-inch smartphone-link Display Audio unit with redesigned HVAC control knobs. The 2020 Outlander and Outlander PHEV both come with one new color option: Red Diamond.

The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the most heavily changed of the three. It gets a major exterior styling redesign, resulting in a stronger, more rugged and dynamic look. It’s been reshaped for a sportier vibe, further enhanced via new LED front headlights, LED taillights, and LED Daytime Running Lights (standard on all trims). Inside, there are newly available fabrics and improved detailing. In addition, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport comes with three new color options and a new package.
