A recent report suggested that Samsung is planning to release three variants of the Galaxy S10, but only two of them were mentioned, the Galaxy S10, and S10 Plus… well, the third variant has just surfaced in a new report, along with display sizes of the other two models. A new report surfaced in Korea, and according to the provided info, Samsung may release a small Galaxy S10 handset, to which will be inferior to both the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.
According to The Bell, the most powerful Galaxy S10 variant, the Galaxy S10 Plus, will ship with a 6.44-inch display, while the entry-level model may sport a 5-inch panel. The middle-of-the-road model, the Galaxy S10, will probably sport a 5.8-inch panel, just like its predecessor. The Galaxy S10 Plus is said to sport three cameras on its back, while the small Galaxy S10 variant will stick to one rear-facing camera. It remains to be seen if the regular S10 variant will include two or three cameras, though. The Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus are rumored to ship with curved displays, just like their predecessors, while the smaller Galaxy S10 model will include a flat display, similar to the Galaxy S6 and S7. That’s more or less all the info that was shared, and if it’s true, it remains to be seen how thin will bezels be on the smaller Galaxy S10, as they will almost certainly be noticeably thicker than on the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, mainly due to its flat display, but we’ll see.
In any case, the smaller Galaxy S10 variant will be extremely compact, a 5-inch display is quite compact on its own in this day and age, and if Samsung manages to trim down those bezels to an extent, the small Galaxy S10 variant will be a real competitor in the compact market. The source did not mention anything about the specs, so it remains to be seen if this smaller Galaxy S10 unit will ship with a flagship SoC, like its siblings, or will Samsung opt to include a mid-range processor on the inside. In any case, we’re still over half a year away from the Galaxy S10 launch, so do expect a ton of such rumors to appear in the coming months.
