The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 and Mi Box 4c are direct successors to the Mi Box 3 smart TV box which was announced last year. These two new smart boxes do support 4K HDR video playback, and they both come with an AI-based PatchWall interface that was available in the Mi Box 3s and Mi Box 3c. The PatchWall interface will basically learn from you, it will learn your viewing habits in order to filter content that you may like.
Now, both of these devices will also ship with a remote controller, as expected, and that remote controller will include a microphone on it, so that you can use the voice aspect of the device. The remote controller will ship with a PatchWall artificial intelligence voice system, while Bluetooth will be included on the inside as well. ‘Mi Touch’ replaces regular navigation buttons on the remote for the Mi Box 4, which essentially means that you will be required to use gestures in order to control the device, though the Mi Box 4c will ship with a regular remote. That being said, let’s take a close look at what these two devices have to offer, shall we, let’s kick things off with the Mi Box 4. This smart TV box is capable of playing 4K HDR video at 60fps, it is fueled by the Amlogic S905L 64-bit quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. The device ships with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, while Dolby Digital Plus +DTS is included here as well. The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1+ EDR, while you will find the following ports on the device: HDMI 2.0a, USB 2.0 and 3.5mm headphone jack. The Mi Box 4c can also play 4K HDR video at 60fps, while the device is fueled by the Amlogic 64-bit quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, we’re presuming the same chip that fuels the Mi Box 4. This device packs in 1GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage, while DTS-HD audio decoding is included here. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n comes with the device as well, while the MI Box 4c has the same ports as the Mi Box 4. The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 is priced at 349 Yuan ($55), while the Mi Box 4c will set you back 249 Yuan ($40) should you choose to buy it in China. Both of these smart boxes are currently available for pre-order in China, while they will go on sale on February 1. Xiaomi will probably release international variants of these two smart boxes, though the company did not share any details just yet.
