Protect America has just announced integration with the August Smart Lock Pro. Starting now, people using Protect America’s Security system can have key-less access to their homes, if the use the August Smart Lock Pro at the same time, of course. The August Smart Lock Pro supports Wifi, Bluetooth, HomeKit and Z Wave Plus to lock and unlock your door.
SMART is Protect America’s application which can be used to control the door with the August Smart Lock Pro, and send you notifications about any changes that occur. The August Smart Lock Pro uses its August Sense Technology that secures your door using features like Auto Unlock. This smart lock is uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS to lock and unlock the door automatically, which is achieved using two ‘states’, Home and Away, so the app knows exactly when to lock and unlock your door. If you have Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, you can use them to give voice commands and control the door, no need to search for your keys or even open the app.
By using the Z Wave Plus feature, one need not worry about interference from other electronic devices. When using Alexa, if you are stuck in a room with no reception, the app reroutes the commands through other connected devices. The GPS feature also helps greatly in unlocking and locking your door, for example, you can set the door to be locked a minute after you are out the door or you can set it to be unlocked when you are at a certain distance from the door. Say you are bringing a new computer home, or something else that you need to carry with two hands, unlocking a door manually would require you to set it down and then unlock it. Using the SMART App you can set the door to be unlocked when you are 100 meters from the door. It is also worth noting that you will be notified if someone is trying to break into your house by picking a lock, which can, needless to say, be quite a useful feature as well.
