AliExpress Suggests A Red-Colored HTC U11 Plus Is Coming

The HTC U11 Plus will apparently launch in a new color option soon enough, as a retail listing on AliExpress shows, as the device is listed for pre-sale, but not yet available. The high-end smartphone made its debut in early November, boasting powerful specs and a sleek metal-and-glass construction. For now, the device is available in three color options: Ceramic Black, Translucent Black, and Amazing Silver. HTC itself has not made any official announcement about a new color option launching soon, but the product page on popular online retailer AliExpress indicates that a red avatar is in the cards. The retailer does not mention just when this new color option will actually go on sale and start shipping to customers, but the pre-sale suggests it might not take too long.

Other than the bold new finish, the red version of the HTC U11 Plus will come with the exact same specifications as the original model, and no pricing differences are expected. AliExpress shows the red model at the same $799 price as the other color options, and HTC will likely retain the same price tag when it officially unveils the new option. In terms of hardware and performance, the handset competes at the high-end segment of the smartphone market. As a reminder, the HTC U11 Plus sports a 6-inch Super LCD 6 display with a QHD+ resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels, a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of native storage space, expandable via a microSD card.

The HTC U11 Plus further comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, a 12.2-megapixel UltraPixel 3 main camera with dual-LED, dual-tone flash, and an 8-megapixel front shooter with an 85-degree wide-angle lens. Other specs include BoomSound speakers, USB 3.1 Type-C, a large 3,930mAh non-removable battery, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging, and Android 8.0 Oreo on board out of the box, with HTC’s own Sense UI on top. Just like the regular HTC U11, the larger HTC U11 Plus also comes with what the company calls “Edge Sense,” a feature that allows users to squeeze the device to trigger certain apps such as the camera.
