OPPO has introduced its latest smartphone in China, the OPPO A73, which first emerged on certification website TENAA. The handset packs mid-range specs and it has since been made available for purchase in the country. It carries a price tag of 1699 Yuan ($256) and can be bought from the OPPO online store. It is currently available in two colors, namely Champagne and Black. Also, OPPO is offering customers a number of add-ons when purchasing the phone, such as Extended Warranty for either six months or one-year, costing 79 Yuan ($12) and 129 Yuan ($19) respectively. There is also a Screen Insurance being offered by the Chinese electronics company, which is available for 129 Yuan ($19), and will be valid for one-year from the date of purchase. OPPO is including a free M11 Bluetooth Speaker with every unit purchased, and this speaker usually retails for 129 Yuan ($19).
The OPPO A73 is the company’s third device to sport a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 along with a full HD+ resolution, with the first two being the OPPO F5 and F5 Youth. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763T octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with a Mali G71 MP2 GPU. Memory wise, the OPPO A73 packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. When it comes to optics, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel f/2.2 camera on its rear and it is assisted by a LED flash. On top of that, selfies are handled by a larger 16-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.0 located above the display.
Inside the OPPO A73 is a 3,200mAh non-removable battery and it comes with support for fast charging in the form of OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge tech. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with ColorOS 3.2 on top of it. Besides that, this dual-SIM phone sports a fingerprint scanner on its rear and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The OPPO A73 measures 156.5 x 76.0 x 7.5mm and weighs 152 grams. At the moment, it is only available in China, though OPPO may introduce the smartphone in other Asian countries in the coming months.
