Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has just popped up on Geekbench. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus have been leaking like crazy lately, and those leaks will only get more intensive as the launch date for the two phones approaches. Having said that, if you take a look at the image down below, you’ll get to see a listing from Geekbench which allegedly shows off one of the company’s upcoming flagships, the larger, ‘Plus’ model.
As you can see, this phone is listed on Geekbench with a model number SM-G965U1, and the listing reveals that this phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 845, the newest SoC from Qualcomm, which suggests that we’re looking at a US model of the phone here, as the European variant will almost certainly ship with Samsung’s new Exynos-branded flagship SoC. That being said, Geekbench reveals that the phone comes with Android 8.0 Oreo, and that it will ship with 6GB of RAM on the inside, even though it says ‘4954MB’ on Geekbench. This listing also reveals that the phone managed to score 2,422 points in the single-core benchmark, while it hit 8,351 points in the multi-core benchmark. Now, if recent rumors and leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy S9 will ship with a single camera on the back, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will come with a dual camera setup. The fingerprint scanner will be placed right below the Galaxy S9 Plus’ dual cameras, it seems, and the device will resemble its predecessor quite a bit, as it will sport really thin bezels, curved back, and a curved display.
The Galaxy S9 Plus is rumored to sport a 6.1 or 6.2-inch display, which means we’ll get a display of a similar size to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8 Plus. On top of Android 8.0 Oreo Samsung will include its own skin, as per usual, and the device will ship with a battery larger than 3,000mAh, that’s for sure. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are expected to arrive in H1 2018, they will either launch during MWC in Barcelona, or in a separate event after the tradeshow, in any case, stay tuned.
