I am heading back to Toronto for the holidays!
It will be my first Christmas at home with my parents in close to four years, so I’m super excited to do ALL the holiday things in the city. Here’s what’s on my radar:
1) The Toronto Christmas Market
This is one of my all-time ‘get in the holiday spirit’ Christmas market. I love going at night and seeing all the lights twinkle at this market in The Distillery District. There are lots of warm beverages and refreshments for sale to keep you warm. If it gets too chilly, pop into a gallery to see some local art or into a restaurant for a glass of wine.
It’s worth a second visit during the day if you can swing it! The vibe is more family-like with lots of fun photo ops. Don’t forget to pop into all the local shops and visit the booths for a little Christmas shopping.
November 16 – December 23, 2017
If you’re celebrating with little ones, Toronto’s annual Santa Claus parade is a must! Make sure to get there early to save a seat and plan on taking transit to avoid traffic and parking chaos. It’s a fun day out in the city and I usually like to follow it up with a trip to the Eaton Centre to see the holiday decorations and windows.

3) Calvacade of Lights
Watch the big Christmas tree in Nathan Phillips Square light up along with live music, ice skating and fireworks! This year there will be a DJ skate, lantern workshop, sing-a-long and more!
November 25, 2017
4) One of a Kind Show
This is one of my most favourite craft shows in Toronto and it’s one of the biggest! I’ve found all sorts of incredible things here from soaps, candles, edible gifts and even my buckwheat pillow. Not to be missed!
November 23 – December 3rd, 2017
5) Skating at Harbourfront Centre
The Natrel Rink located right next to the Harbourfront Centre is a great little spot to go skating. There are rentals, hot chocolate, clean washrooms and DJ skate nights as well. Use of the rink is free
Opens November 17, 2017 for the Winter
