Sketchy OnePlus 5T Renders Appear Again, Thin Bezels In Tow

The OnePlus 5 is currently out of stock in most markets it seems, including both Europe and the US, which fuels rumors of a new model launching soon, and two new OnePlus 5T renders have just surfaced. Now, OnePlus’ CEO, Carl Pei, said that the demand for the OnePlus 5 has been higher than anticipated, blaming that for the fact that the device is no longer available. Some reports have been suggesting that the OnePlus 5T will not launch at all, and that the OnePlus 6 is coming early next year, but considering this recent turn of events, we might see the OnePlus 5T announced next month after all.

In any case, if you take a look at the provided renders in the gallery down below, you will see two rather sketchy images. Why sketchy? Well, the second render (of the phone’s back side) looks identical to the OnePlus 5’s back side, while the front side of the device looks like the OnePlus 5 with thinner bezels, so it is possible that the image has simply been photoshopped. Truth be said, however, the OnePlus 5T is rumored to resemble the upcoming OPPO F5 handset, and based on leaks, that phone will resemble this render, well, at least its front side will, so it is possible that the OnePlus 5T will basically look like the OnePlus 5 with thinner bezels and a larger display, but chances are that the company will offer us a different look of the phone’s back side, at least a little bit different. It’s also worth noting that these two renders come from the same source, directly from Weibo (Chinese social network), and there’s no proof these are legit in any way, but we’ll see.

The OnePlus 5T is rumored to sport a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, and chances are we’ll get a fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) AMOLED panel. The phone, if it gets announced, will probably ship in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, while it will sport a dual camera setup on the back, probably 20 and 16-megapixel shooters, like the OnePlus 5, while a single 16-megapixel snapper is expected on the device’s front side. The OnePlus 5T will probably be made out of metal, and ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with a new version of OnePlus’ OxygenOS.
