The HTC U11 Life will be available in a “Brilliant Black” color option and be priced at €369, one industry insider recently said. The black color adds to the blue and white variants of the handset that were reported earlier this month. The source also claims that the aforementioned price tag will be attached to the variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash storage, with the cost itself translating to $429 at the current exchange rate. It’s likely that HTC will also offer a variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage but there’s still no available information regarding the pricing and availability of that model.
The specifications of the HTC U11 Life have been detailed in an earlier report, and it is likely that the handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor with eight ARM Cortex A53 64-bit cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and the Adreno 508 GPU. The smartphone is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The internal storage of the device will be expandable via a microSD card, according to previous rumors. It is also reported that both the rear and front cameras of the handset are equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor with an aperture size of f/2.0. The rear sensor will support HDR, according to some insiders, and it’s expected to be able to capture images in a RAW format and record 4K videos. It is also rumored that the handset will have IP67 water and dust resistance, much like a number of HTC’s other recent offerings.
A 2,600mAh battery is rumored to be found within the device which is likely to lack a headphone jack. However, the USonic headphones, the noise-canceling earbuds included with the HTC U11 compatible with USB Type-C, will likely also be bundled with the upcoming mid-ranger. Unlike other HTC offerings, it is reported that the HTC U11 Life will not sport the Sense 9.0 UI that some of the manufacturer’s recent products have and will instead run stock Android 8.0 Oreo as part of Google’s Android One program, though another variant with the company’s software suite may also hit the market in the future.
