The ASUS ZenFone 4 series of Android-powered smartphones is now officially available for purchase in the United States. Interested customers can buy the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Pro, and two versions of the ZenFone 4 Max. One ZenFone 4 Max model with a 5.5-inch display had made its debut back in July, but ASUS has now added another version with a smaller display and battery, as well as a fittingly lower price tag. As the name itself suggests, the ZenFone 4 Pro is the highest-end of the bunch, sporting the most powerful specifications in the series, but it also comes with the highest price tag.
The ASUS ZenFone 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, dual rear cameras, and a 3,300mAh battery with rapid charging technology. The handset comes with a $399 price tag and it’s available from ASUS and various retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and B&H. The Zenfone 4 comes in Midnight Black and Moonlight White color options. The beefier ZenFone 4 Pro has a 5.5-inch full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 3,600mAh battery with fast charging suport, and dual rear cameras entailing a 12-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel one with optical image stabilization (OIS), 2x optical zoom, and 4K video recording capabilities. The handset comes at a $599 price point and is available from ASUS, as well as the aforementioned retailers.
Lastly, ASUS also introduced a new ZenFone 4 Max revision with a 5.2-inch display, which joins the 5.5-inch ZenFone 4 Max version from July. The new model comes with slightly weaker specs compared to the existing one, such as a Snapdragon 425 processor instead of the Snapdragon 430, and 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage instead of the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage found inside the 5.5-inch model. The new version also has a smaller 4,100mAh battery instead of the 5,000mAh unit of the previous model, but it also comes with a lower price tag of $169. All smartphones in the ZenFone 4 family feature fingerprint scanners, dual rear cameras, dual-SIM support, and Android Nougat with the ASUS Zen UI 4.0 on top. All models should get an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo in the future as well, the company previously said.
