A new smartphone from BLU, the BLU Vivo 8L, is now available for purchase on Amazon. This handset is powered by the MT6753 chipset from MediaTek which includes eight ARM Cortex A53 cores with a maximum frequency of 1.3GHz. A Mali T720 GPU is also included with the chipset, as is a category 4 LTE modem compatible with GSM networks from AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, and Straight Talk. The device is available for purchase unlocked for $199.99 and is also presently discounted by 25 percent for Prime members, setting them back only $149.99.
The BLU Vivo 8L sports a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 by 720 pixels and a pixel density of 277ppi. It is protected against scratches by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash storage that can be expanded with a microSD card by up to 64GB. A fingerprint sensor is located below the rear camera which is equipped with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor. In addition, the rear camera has an aperture size of f/2.0. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, comes with a 20-megapixel shooter and an LED flash. To keep the lights on, the handset contains a sizeable 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support. The BLU Vivo 8L ships with Android 7.0 Nougat and it seems that some Amazon apps will come pre-installed on the device based on its official renders accompanying the product’s Amazon listing. The device is available in black and is already shipping to consumers who order it but there’s still no information on whether BLU will eventually introduce more color options.
BLU claims that the Vivo 8L is 90 percent metal, whereas the rest of the device is apparently made of plastic. Directly beneath the display of the new handset are the capacitive navigation buttons, while the right-hand side of the smartphone features the volume rocker and standard power button. Also located on the rear panel of the device are grills for the back-firing loudspeaker and LED flash which is found beside the rear camera. The BLU Vivo 8L ships with a silicone case, screen protector, earbuds, USB cable and a conventional SIM slot key, according to its Amazon listing.
