After leaking out a couple of times in recent months, the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus have been made officially official.
The Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are special edition upgrades over the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus that launched earlier this year. Both models feature metal unibody designs and several notable upgrades over their non-S counterparts.
First up, the Moto G5S is packing a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 display that’s a smidge larger that Moto G5’s 5-inch screen. The Moto G5S also features an upgraded 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, an octa-core processor, and a 3000mAh that’s a bit larger than the Moto G5’s 2800mAh battery pack.
The Moto G5S Plus boasts some notable upgrades of its own. These include dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, up from the Moto G5 Plus’s single 12-megapixel rear shooter. The dual cameras of the Moto G5S Plus can be used to create some special photography tricks, like giving your photos a blurry background or selective black and white.
Moto has also given the G5S Plus a slightly larger 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash, Snapdragon 625 processor, 3/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. Powering this whole package is a 3000mAh battery.
The Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus will begin rolling out to international markets over the coming months, with the Moto G5S carrying a price tag of €249 ($294 USD) and the Moto G5S Plus costing €299 ($353 USD). Motorola says that these new Moto phones will launch in the U.S. this fall.
