Up to this point, sharing on Instagram meant you had to have the app on your phone, which in some markets, could be limiting or make sharing impossible altogether.
TechCrunch reports that Instagram has made an important change: You can now upload to the social network from its mobile website. So if you don’t have the app on your phone or can only access the social network from a mobile web browser, that’s now a possibility.
The move is meant to expand Instagram’s presence in developing markets where users might not be able to download the app due to limited storage on their handset, or if their mobile network’s speed isn’t fast enough.
It’s an important update for Instagram, to be sure. How often do you use Instagram?
