After debuting way back in January, ASUS’s ZenFone 3 Zoom is now available for purchase.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom today launched at Amazon, ASUS, B&H, Best Buy, and other retailers. Pricing for the unlocked GSM smartphone is set at $329.
As its name suggests, the camera is a major focus of the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Its dual rear camera setup includes a 12-megapixel shooter with f/1.7 aperture and 25mm wide angle lens as well as a 12-megapixel 59mm camera for 2.3x optical zoom. ASUS has also thrown in a Full Manual Mode to give you full control over the ZenFone 3 Zoom’s cameras as well as RAW support (with Android 7.0 update), a TriTech+ autofocus system, and 4K video capture.
Another big feature of the ZenFone 3 Zoom is its battery. The 5000mAh battery offers 40-day standby, and thanks to a reverse charging feature, you can use that beefy battery to charge other devices as well.
Other features included with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom include a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display with Gorilla Glass 5, a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, 13-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0, and USB Type-C.
While the ZenFone 3 Zoom is a mid-range device in terms of specs, it does a special feature or two to help it stand out from the crowd, like its 2.3x optical zoom camera and huge 5000mAh battery. The device is also priced aggressively, and when combined with its special features, it could help make the ZenFone 3 Zoom competitive in the affordable Android smartphone market.
