The Samsung Galaxy S8 is a nice-looking handset with plenty of high-end specifications available under the hood. But for some, there might be room to improve.
Samsung apparently agrees, as the Yonhap News Agency reports that Samsung is working on a Galaxy S8 variant that not only offers 2GB more RAM than the current model, but also doubles the built-in storage for good measure. This Galaxy S8 will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The new handset will be offered in Midnight Black.
There’s a catch here, though, and you probably already know what it is: This particular variant will only be sold in South Korea to start. It will retail for 1.15 million won (!), or about $1,018 USD (!). Samsung does say that if there’s demand in the market for this particular variant outside of South Korea, they are open to the possibility of expanding its availability. When that might be, though, remains unknown.
That’s a high-end handset, to be sure, not the current model of the Galaxy S8 is anything to scoff at. Even with a price tag just over a grand, it’s hard to argue that some folks wouldn’t fork over the cash to get their hands on this special GS8.
Would you buy this variant?
