Google has begun rolling out an update to its Google Play Newsstand app that brings a visual redesign and refines many core features of the service. Upon opening the app, users are greeted and shown the weather, with a single stream of personalized stories below that’s being referred to as “Briefing”.
At the bottom are four links to different sections of the app: For You, Library, Explore, and Read Later. While Explore and Read Later are familiar, the former two are largely new additions. For You is the aforementioned landing screen. Library consists of Topics & Sources, which stores magazines and content from the previous My Library feature, and Digest, which organizes the top three stories from each topic and source.
Additional changes include a host of new settings and toggles, giving users more control over the app.
This update is version 4.0 and is now rolling out through the Google Play Store. Screenshots are available at the via link below.
