Honor 8 now available for purchase in the U.S.

The Honor 8 has been talked about for a while, but it’s finally available for purchase in the U.S.!

The Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a HiSilicon Kirin 950 octacaore processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of memory with a microSD card, dual 12MP camera sensors with laser autofocus, an 8MP front facing camera, a fingerprint reader, a 3,000mAh battery, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with Emotion UI 4.1.

The phone is amazing for the price and is impressive even compared to flagships. The glass on both sides, chamfered metal frame, and “2.5D glass” on the rear really feel more premium than Honor 8′s $400 price tag suggests.

If you’re interested, many retailers are currently selling the Honor 8 in the U.S. The 32GB model is $399.99 while the 64GB model is $449.99. The unique sapphire blue color seems to be exclusive to Best Buy at the moment (and it’s really the color to choose), but black and white are available elsewhere. Let us know if you’re going to pick one up!

Show Press Release
PLANO, Texas [September 6, 2016]: The exciting new Honor 8 Android™ smartphone is available at retail starting today. Offered at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video, and Newegg, as well as HiHonor.com/us/, the Honor 8 delivers terrific features and high-end styling at a great price: $399.99 USD for the 32GB model, and $449.99 for the 64GB version.
Honor, a global smartphone brand, introduced the Honor 8 to the U.S. market in August, when it began accepting preorders. As the brand’s first flagship device in the United States, Honor 8 combines high-end technology with a stylish design that makes it stand out from the crowd. Consumers no longer have to choose between high performance, great features, and price. Honor sets a new standard for what people can expect in an unlocked phone.
“With Honor 8, we set out to create a device that perfectly reflects our vision,” said Zack Zhang, Vice President of Honor USA. “Honor 8 delivers with a higher aesthetic standard and the features consumers care most about. Since announcing the device in August, we’ve been pleased by the positive reception Honor 8 has received from industry insiders and media across the country.”
Available in Sapphire Blue, Pearl White, and Midnight Black, Honor 8 is tailor made for people who require advanced features and specifications that are designed to handle everything life throws at them. From its advanced dual-lens camera system to the dual-function finger scanner and Smart Key, the Honor 8 stands apart from other similarly priced devices on value and innovation.
Honor 8 Dual Camera
Thoughtfully designed for both amateur and professional photographers, Honor 8’s dual-camera design will make it the only camera they’ll need. Advanced pro features mimic SLR manual options and complement the innovative dual 12MP camera. With the dual lens setup, users have both color and monochromatic sensors that work together to deliver images with richer hues and more details. They can capture the moment with confidence with Honor 8’s built-in hybrid auto focus, which uses laser, depth, and contrast focus as well as a built-in ISP to improve focus and processing speeds.
Honor 8 Unique Design Aesthetic
Honor 8 is for people who don’t mind standing out. A carefully crafted 15-layer surface is bathed in rugged glass, resulting in a liquid surface that reflects light in a unique, aurora-inspired design. Sophisticated manufacturing and precision craftsmanship are evident in each angle and curve, making Honor 8 a pleasure to hold.
Honor 8 Quick, Secure Access
Users will enjoy convenience and a sense of security with the Honor 8’s dual-function fingerprint scanner that redefines what is possible with a 0.4-second phone unlock. Its 3D fingerprint scanner is also designed as a programmable press key, allowing it to program functions for quick access to favorite functions and apps, as well as for authorizing mobile payments.
Ready for Anything
Featuring a powerful 3000mAH battery and Smart Power 4.0 protocols, Honor 8 offers power to spare – with 1.7 days of stand-by power or 10 hours of offline video bingeing. Paired with a powerful, energy-sipping 16 nanometer Kirin 950 chip, users get faster, more responsive performance, without draining the battery.
