Among the companies putting their own touches on Android, HTC has always provided the most favorable experience. It’s not like stock Android but it’s way better than TouchWiz from Samsung and LG UX 5.0. The HTC 10 ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow sitting behind Sense 8.0, and this time HTC’s software overlay is lighter than ever before. While the visuals are still in place, the company pulled back on the number of self-made apps in favor of allowing Google’s to work.

So that’s all thirty-eight apps you’ll find on the HTC 10 if you buy the unlocked edition directly from HTC. It’s a mix between apps made by HTC and Google; however, none of them are doubles. If you prefer one or the other’s apps, you can go to the Play Store and download individually. HTC said existing apps that aren’t pre-installed on the HTC 10 are available on its 2016 flagship.
