Nissan GT-R sets fastest drift ever recorded, 304km/h! [+Video]

The all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R isn’t a weapon of choice when it comes to producing sideways action in a massive cloud of tyre smoke. This heavily modified GT-R however has just set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest drift ever recorded, in the world.

Under the hands of Japanese drift legend, Masato Kawabata, the GT-R set the record while going at a mind boggling 304 km/h at Fujairah International Airport in the UAE. This broke the record set formerly by Poland’s Jakub Przygoński, drifting his 1,068-horsepower Toyota GT86 at 216 km/h three years ago.

The bespoke GT-R developed by Nismo and GReddy Trust, had the GT-R’s front driveshaft removed to make it rear-wheel driven. With some heavy modifications in the engine, it generates 1,361 hp!

Congratulations and huge RESPECT to Nissan & Masato Kawabata for the record!
