Even though Android 6.0 Marshmallow is barely on any devices, Android N is right around the corner. Like with all new Android releases, it will be bringing a bunch of new features and improvements.
Some of these new changes has to do with notifications and quick settings. Things like including more information in the notifications shade and updated UI.
Notifications will now span across the entire screen and be much closer together than before. There is also less emphasis on the app icon, but instead more easily viewable information. Also, there appears to be a new form of quick settings at the top now. The mockups below show the old notifications on the left and the new Android N style on the right.
Once the quick settings are pulled down, there is a new animation and look as well. They too are now full-width and are all aligned. Also, the WiFi and Bluetooth icons are no longer given a more prominent spot. At the bottom there is a small “edit” button, which might mean users will be able to edit the UI tuner options right from the quick settings dropdown. Finally, the little dots at the bottom seem to indicate multiple pages allowing users to put their most used quick settings on the first page and less used ones on the second. Again, the image on the left is old and the one on the right is the new version.
The images and information we have so far are purely mockups and based on leaks. We can not guarantee that the final version of Android N will look exactly like this. However, based on what you have seen, are you liking or hating the new looks/features?
