If you reside in the UK and own an Amazon Fire 7-inch tablet or Fire Kids Edition 7-inch tablet, you may want to stop using the charger supplied with the device because Amazon UK has just issued a Voluntary Recall and Exchange Programme for the adapter. The retailer has determined that there is a risk of electrical shock when the charger is removed from the wall socket, with the possibility that its assembly, or casing, may detach from the rest of the plug.
You can check to see if your charger is one of the affected few by looking at the business end of the adapter to see if it bears the model number FABK7B. If it does, you should refrain from using it further, and get in touch with Amazon UK to take part in the Recall and Exchange Programme that gives you two possible solutions. You can either choose to have Amazon send out a free replacement charger or you can request Amazon to apply a £12 credit to your account so that you can buy a third-party replacement of your choice.
Whichever choice you make, Amazon will send you a pre-paid envelope so that you can return the affected charger to the retailer. All you have to do to get the process started is click the Amazon link below.
