2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Pros: Strong features-per-dollar quotient; nimble handling, robust acceleration

Cons: Stiff ride, especially in R-Spec models; not as crisp or refined as some other sporty rear-wheel-drive coupes; basic design is starting to feel long in the tooth

CG Says: For 2016, Hyundai’s sporty rear-wheel-drive coupe gets a new color center-stack display but is otherwise unchanged. Genesis Coupe’s assets include capable rear-drive handling, ample standard equipment, affordable pricing, and Hyundai’s generous warranty. Though it lacks the American-muscle mystique of the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Ford Mustang and is a less involving “driver’s car” than the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the Genesis Coupe is a well-rounded sporty/performance machine that offers good value for the money. Still, the redesigned Camaro and recently redesigned Mustang are more compelling sporty coupes overall.
