Though non-basket-case mid-year Corvettes are still out of my price range, the most attractive entry point for the car I’d imagined I’d own by now, is right about here: a 1965 roadster with a carbureted small block.
Though hunting for a ’64 might turn up further deals, 1965 was the first year for standard four-wheel discs and the functional vent slats on the front fenders, as well as some other nice updates.
Of course the Mark IV big block also made its debut in 1965, but a 396 ups the ante and this car’s L76 327 is as good as it gets without injection (which also drives the price up).
This particular 1965 Chevrolet Corvette caught my attention for several reasons: one long-term owner, no added-later side exhaust or knock-off wheels, solid-lifter engine, positraction and power windows. Just a good-looking Corvette that appears to be ready to drive as much as possible:
1965 Chevrolet Corvette, ORIGINAL Matching Numbers two tops, 327/365hp power windows. positive traction rear end. Have owned this car since 1968, always stored inside. Runs very good, just get in and drive. Needs very little work to be mint condition…Please email us with any questions that you might have. Very nice car
