Legends and Heroes Tour Press Release: The Legends and Heroes Tour is proud to honor Ronnie Tichenor. In 1986 at just 16 years of age, Ronnie Tichenor plunged onto the pro Supercross scene quickly establishing himself as a serious contender with consecutive 3rd, 2nd and 1st place finishes in the 125cc class. Known for a smooth and stylish riding style, the kid from Florida's west coast enjoyed a solid pro career, earning twenty-five outdoor national and 125 Supercross podium finishes. Highlights include him capturing a coveted 125 East Supercross Championship and winning the 1987 Daytona Supercross. In 1993 with his American racing career drawing to an end, Tichenor accepted an offer to race for in Japan for the Factory Suzuki Team. He spent nearly four years racing - and winning - the Japanese national championship. Back home in the U.S., he took one final run at the AMA outdoor national championship title, retiring eventually at the end of the 1997 season. Once his racing days behind him, he wasted no time getting back to work sharing his knowledge with aspiring riders and quickly making a name for himself as a top riding coach. During Saturday evening's pre-race ceremony Ronnie Tichenor will be presented with the Legends and Heroes award and a personally monogrammed Rockwell timepiece watch. For more information:
