The original of this photo from the Historic American Engineering Record shows one of Cleveland’s more stately bridges, the old Superior Avenue Viaduct, and is positively giant. However, few of us (aside from Scotty G) are here for architecture, so let’s zoom in on the cars parked underneath the bridge and try to figure out exactly when it was taken. Hint: Cleveland’s the heart of the rust belt, so if those cars wearing snow tires don’t also have flappy quarters, they must still be relatively new. What do you see here?
