Sometimes, you never know that you need something until you see it. Prior to coming across this 1956 Ford F700, for sale on Hemmings.com, we’d have been happy to greet the zombie apocalypse with a Mercedes-Benz Unimog parked in our driveway. One glimpse at this rig, however, and we’re convinced that the Ford would be a better choice. The truck’s Coleman all-wheel drive conversion should minimize the risk of getting stuck, on or off-road, and the PTO-powered 10-ton front-mounted winch means getting unstuck is never an issue. The seller states that the rust-free Ford comes with a diamond plate stake body, but we’ve already got visions of a camper conversion in our head. From the seller’s description:
1956 FORD T-700 w/ COLEMAN all wheel drive conversion. Factory power steering and power brakes..5 SPD main, 2 SPD Transfer case Has power divider which locks up rear tandem wheels. Orig. Air Force truck stationed at White Sands Missile Range and had soil boring drill mounted on back. Truck comes with original diamond plated stake body and large tool box. NO RUST .All new drive shafts u-joints, brake lines ,brake cylinders,wheel bearing seals,rebuilt power steering piston, radiator,heater,dual exhaust pipes and mufflers10 new tires and tubes..Int. mint.Original seat is like new.Paint on hood and roof orig .
