Given the expense of neon signs, one has to wonder just how many of them in this photo of San Francisco’s Geary Boulevard – taken in 1959 by the aunt of Roberto41144 on Flickr – exist today? Then again, cars are another high-dollar item that, like neon signs, wear out and weather, and we sorta expect a minimum attrition rate for the cars we see in the same photo.
