In today’s increasingly global world, Shoei manufacturers all of its helmets (and all of its helmet parts) in Japan to ensure the highest quality. And racing has always remained in the company’s DNA ever since founder Eitaro Kamata designed and used his first products exclusively for competition. It’s only fitting, then, that Shoei chose to introduce a new helmet at Aragon, site of this weekend’s MotoGP. Designed to meet the ever-increasing requirements for a racing helmet, this new X-Spirit III was launched by the company’s most prestigious ambassador: four-time world champion
Marc Marquez. Thanks to the knowhow gleaned from MotoGP, the X-Spirit III has an improved design, shaped for better aerodynamic performance at speeds in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph). The all-new shell is designed to make a sharp forward-bent posture, a basic position for the current racers.

Another important new feature of the X-Spirit III, besides a new shield, is its interior, which features an improved ventilation system designed to reduce sweating while making it easier for riders to breathe. Marc Marquez, not surprisingly, was enthusiastic about the new Shoei helmet, which he will use this weekend at Aragon in his home GP: Said Marquez: “The new X-Spirit III is an evolution of the X-Spirit II. It’s an incredible helmet, improved in all its parts, with particularly attention to the aerodynamic design. The ventilation has improved too. In fact, there are more exists for the air. I like the shape. It’s much more modern compared to the previous model. I have been with Shoei since 2010 and from the very first moment I knew that this was my helmet. In the last months I have given my comments and suggestions. I would like to thank Shoei for their full commitment to safety and for their constant dedication to development. Safety is vital in our sport.”
