Triumph Motorcycles Press Release: The final round of the 2015 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship rolls into New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey, this weekend, September 11–13.
Triumph rider Bobby Fong hopes to cap off a spectacular second half to his season with yet another podium finish. Fong, riding the #50 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol /
Triumph Daytona 675R, has been climbing the point standings after an early season injury forced him to miss a race weekend. Four podium finishes in the last six races, including two pole positions, has catapulted Fong into sixth in the Supersport point standings, a mere nine points shy of fourth. This weekend’s doubleheader gives Fong the opportunity to make up even more ground in the championship standings. “The team and I have found a sweet spot with the Triumph Daytona 675R, and we’ve been able to put together some great weekends,” said Bobby Fong. “We’re just missing one thing, getting onto the top spot of the podium. That's the goal this weekend!” A great success of Triumph’s road racing season is its involvement with the VETMotorsports outreach initiative. Sgt. Chad C. was hired as a crew member of the Latus Motors Racing team for the entirety of the MotoAmerica season. Through Castrol’s VETMotorsports Performance Match Fund, the on-track performance of Triumph teams in both AMA Pro Flat Track and MotoAmerica competition has earned VETMotorsports $8,425 in bonuses thus far this season.
