Hyundai Tuscon 521kW “Brute Ute” by Bisimoto teased ahead of SEMA

Bisimoto Engineering’s First CUV is the Most-Powerful Tucson E

Bisimoto Engineering will reveal a highly tuned version of the new Hyundai Tuscon at the 2015 SEMA show in November.

Dubbed the “Brute Ute”, even though it doesn’t a load-carrying tray out the back, the modified Tucson features a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine under the bonnet.

For the “Ute”, Bisimoto has strengthened the engine’s internals, added a high-flow fuel pump and given the engine the ability to consume fast-burning flex-fuel.

Other modifications include a high-boost Turbonetics turbocharger, a new exhaust system, and revised engine management software. All up, the “Brute Ute” is said to have at least 521kW (700hp) at its disposal.

That’s a massive step up from the 138kW that the 2.4-litre engine generates, in naturally aspirated guise, when used in the Hyundai Sonata sedan.

Visible through the car’s virtually non-existant grille is a Spearco intercooler. The massively uprated engine is tied to a six-speed manual transmission. The one-off Tucson will ride on airbag suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with Toyo R888 tyres.

On the inside, the “Brute Ute” has a four-point roll cage, a custom leather interior and racing seats, as well as an 650W Infinity audio system.
