Explain this: a 1980 Ford Fiesta for sale on Hemmings.com looking about as clean as the day it left the showroom. Alien abductee returned to earth? Wormhole highway? Giant Tupperware container? Or we could accept the seller’s assertion that the car spent most of its years in New Mexico, doesn’t have that many miles on it, and has been lightly refurbished. From the seller’s description:
Absolutely no rust. Car spent almost all of its life in New Mexico. 60,800 actual miles. Has had a repaint (original color). Believe the interior has been reupholstered. Vinyl is too supple to be 35 years old. Carpet is original. Everything works. No radio. Don’t think it ever had one. Engine is stong. No oil leaks. Brake cylinder on front passenger side seeps some. Very, very nice car.
Pictures were taken by the dealer from whom I bought the car (about 2 years ago). Car is pretty much the same now as in the pictures with the exception of some small things I’ve done like replaced the dome light, replaced the rear hatch struts, painted the cargo area covers, etc.
