It’s clean and rust free, it has a five-speed, it looks to be a solid performer and a robustly built hot rod, but we already know some people won’t be able to look past the model name of this modified 1975 Chevrolet Monza 2+2 for sale on Hemmings.com without writing it off. Their loss. While it’s no Pro Touring built-to-the-hilt restomod extravaganza, the Monza has been treated to a selection of proven go-fast parts and updates sure to make it fun on the road. From the seller’s description:
Back in ’75, the only people that knew that the Chevrolet Monza 2+2 was a little racer were the ones that owned one. They were rockets. This rust-free, California car happens to be an over the moon one. Put together by Corvette Corner, the drivetrain consists of a Z24 350ci engine with Edelbrock Performer plus cylinder heads and a Crane H228 cam. The transmission is a new (less than 2000mi) Richmond manual 5-speed with a Hurst shifter. This was just the starting point. Keeping you running “chill” is a Be Cool radiator. All new suspension, S-10 spindles and brakes in the front, Professional paint, Custom stereo, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine and JL Audio and new interior.
This is a fun, fast, unbelievable sounding, hot rod that you just don’t expect from just looking at it. Do not misunderstand this as being the car you drove back in high school. It is not! It is waaaayyyy better!!
